Oral Hygiene

Good health and dental hygiene is fundamental to achieving well-being and optimal health. With good dental health also comes a healthy body. Studies show that inadequate oral health may lead to serious health conditions such as cardiovascular and respiratory disease and increased risk of stroke.

Inadequate oral hygiene can cause gum disease, or Gingivitis, which can cause Periodontitis if untreated.

Periodontitis is characterised by inflammation of the gums and bone loss, and can also lead to teeth loss if untreated.

We have an Oral Hygienist who will do cleans, root planning to prevent periodontal disease and fluoride treatments. Our team believe that it is important to see a hygienist in these areas as often there are issues such as tough plaque which could not be removed through normal brushing which a hygienist can treat. Moreover, this allows an opportunity to detect and treat any potential issues before they escalate, often necessitation more complex, costly treatment. At Stephen Chimes Dentistry in Rose Bay we value prevention over a cure.

Where necessary fissure sealants can be done to prevent decay.

At Stephen Chimes Dentistry in Rose Bay we believe that any effective oral care routine should include:

  •  Brushing twice daily
  •  Flossing daily
  •  Regular dental assessments every 6 months

If it’s been a while since you saw a dentist and are due for a dental assessment contact our caring team at Stephen Chimes Dentistry in Rose Bay.
