Crowns and bridges

Dental Crowns

Dental Crowns are used to strengthen and restore a tooth to its full functionality and appearance. Also referred to as caps, crowns are custom made to fit over your entire tooth.

At Stephen Chimes Dentistry in Rose Bay we use predominately metal-free crowns or porcelain fused to metal crowns.

Crowns can be used to treat teeth that are weak, badly decayed, broken or chipped.

Dental Bridges

A bridge is used to replace one or more missing teeth. A Bridge works when crowns are placed on the teeth on either side of the missing tooth space with the “dummy " teeth joined to make a bridge. This is then cemented onto the support teeth and is not removable.

Ceramic materials are now available that are strong enough to allow us to make metal-free bridges. Using metal-free restorations gives us optimum aesthetics.

What’s Involved?

At our practice we will assess your tooth/teeth to ensure that they can support a crown. Following this we will clean and prepare the area before creating the restoration. Then, accurate impressions of your teeth will be taken and our CEREC machine will accurately create your crown or bridge so you can walk out with a restored smile in a single visit.
